Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a special commission entrusted with the task of conducting examinations and recruiting staff force to non technical C group and B group- non gazetted posts in various departments. SSC is providing career opportunity which gives a large number of youth to grab a job from central government. The staff service commission conducts a wide range of recruitment examinations. The recruitment process essentially consists of written examinations. The Combined Matric Level examinations, Combined Graduate level examination, Section Officer Examination, Tax Asst Examination, Central Police Organisations (CPO) Examinations and Junior Engineers Civil & Electrical examination are among a few to be named. The examination is mostly aimed at assessing your overall IQ, general knowledge and communication skill apart from your subject knowledge. The written examinations are often followed by personal interview and medical fitness tests and the like depending upon the various posts applied. The eligibility criteria stand pretty simple as well. All that is required from you is to be a graduate and an Indian citizenship. The age limit should stand between 18 and 27 years of age. However there are certain relaxations in upper age limit for the reservation categories under special considerations. The most attractive factor about these jobs is definitely the pay scale itself. The usual range falls between Rs.5200-20200. In addition to this an amount would be paid per month as grade pay too. As always there would be periodic pay hikes. The chances of promotion are also wide open. Once you have made your entry into the stream, going upstream is not a big deal. There are frequent promotion tests and you can take your own time to climb up the hierarchy.
